This is why this race is part of the select group of events that make up the SuperHalfs, the European half marathon circuit that brings together the six most prestigious races on the continent with one goal in maind: to enable grassroots runners to design their own calendar, complete all of them and be inducted into the global running Hall of Fame, all while travelling around Europe. And this year, the Valencia Half Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich was once again the final destination for many of them. The truth is, the SuperHalfs started out with five races and a time limit for running in them, but the flood of registrations that continues to pour into the platform and the crowded waiting lists of people hoping to get a race bib for each race (for example, this year in Valencia, more than 15,000 people were left waiting), made a small change necessary: now, there is no time limit. The time limit is at each athlete’s discretion.
