66 Valencia, the Garden of Eden of running... and paella The La Fallera Paella Party and the 42K Valencia Medal Party brought together thousands of runners to celebrate before and after running in the Ciudad del Running In Valencia, we do things differently. While other places around the world hold pasta parties on the eve of their marathons, in Valencia we organise the La Fallera Paella Party. Yes, the Ciudad del Running is also the paradise of paella. Is there any international runner who has returned to their city from Valencia without trying paella? We hope not. Because you didn't need to be a finisher or aim to set a personal best to treat yourself to a well-deserved celebration before the race at a Paella Party that always surprises. In the outdoor area of the race fair, in the Plaza del Agua at the Feria Valencia Exhibition Centre, thousands of runners and their companions gathered to share a picnic: a La Fallera rice paella, drinks, bread, fruit, almond chocolates from Helados Estiu... And a devoted community. In other words, fuel. Believe us, there is no better way to get into ‘marathon mode’. And yet the most important thing is not the paella itself, but the ritual. For Valencians, a weekend without paella with the family... is like a lost weekend. And everyone who takes part in this marathon is part of our family. That's why we love the sense of unity among runners. That's why we love this time for letting go of nerves, sharing the excitement, and getting in the mood for the big day. And the Medal Party after running Everyone who runs in the Ciudad del Running already knows that Valencia is also a party city. But you have to experience it firsthand. The paella party is great; the after party is another story. The bravest –and those who had managed to recover after their efforts– headed to the 42K Valencia Medal Party, the official race party held on Sunday evening at the Mya nightclub. There, thousands more celebrated overlooking the finish line they had crossed a few short hours earlier. nervios, compartir ilusiones y “calentar” el ambiente del gran día.
